Personal Updates — Q2 & Q3 2022

Hello and welcome to another personal updates blog post, it has been over half a year since I’ve posted a new blog post and I’d like to talk about a few different things here in this blog post.

First of all, I’ve since switched to yet another job starting from late July. While I did somewhat enjoy being an IT support engineer and help other customers out with computers and networking needs, I was starting to get more and more overwhelmed by the amount of workloads I was given, my boss from back then didn’t care if I could handle them at all or not, and eventually, I started having serious stomach issues in June due to massive work pressure. While I did try to find a new job, I was not able to find one that was suitable for me. Luckily, there was hope.

In the morning on 10 June, one of my coworkers from my previous job, when I was working as a computer engineer but eventually was forced to quit due to the company laying off excess staffs, decided to give me a phone call. At first, I was kinda surprised to receive a phone call from him, but after answering it, I realized what happened to their team. One of the engineers in the team decided to quit and find a new job with better salary, so they’ve lost an employee who they really need, but they’ve not been able to find a suitable person for replacement, and I was offered to join back to their team, with way higher payouts and various different employee benefits. So I considered about the offer for a few days and decided to give them the answer that they wanted… yes.

After messaging back and forth with the team supervisor and the HR team, I was confirmed that I could be re-employed. So, I was finally able to escape from the work pressure hell on 20 July and started my “new” job on 25 July. My stomach issues wouldn’t get fully sorted until late August. I was diagnosed with flatulence caused by the work pressure that I had, and it sure wasn’t fun having to deal with not being able to eat food properly for 3 months straight.

Moving on from my work situation, I did mention that I was migrating to a new server for my website, and I did in early June, but I kinda forgot to mention it at all. My new server is now based in Canada instead of Singapore due to servers hosted in Singapore being way more expensive. The new server will only last for 2 years since I got a deal off of a contract and it will end in 2 years, and I will probably get yet another server by then but we shall see.

Another thing that is currenly planned is a full upgrade for my gaming / streaming workstation. I’ve ordered the new parts and will start building the PC once I have everything ready. This upgrade is necessary for me to go back to streaming with both better stream quality and the ability to stream newer and more demanding game titles. The build might seem pretty overkill (Intel Core i9–13900K CPU, 64GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 4090 GPU), but for me, it is not overkill at all since I need the compute power for the things I do with my PC (gaming, streaming, video editing and rendering, 3D models rendering, programming and code compiling, etc.), and my 4-year old build really is starting to show its age at this point. I am planning to start streaming on Twitch again once my new PC is built, so please do keep an eye out on my Twitter for any new updates!

And that’s about it for this personal updates blog post, see y’all in the next one!
